Freeware / Shareware Fonts n Things

As a webmaster of numerous websites and blogs, I try my best to give each site a fresh perspective. A friend told me that to save time, I should just use the same template, colours, images and fonts for my sites. Naw… I’d rather have everything different because each site has its own topic and carries its own personality.

Websites like Fonts n Things are good for me and people like me who wants to use different elements for our sites yet unwilling to pay for them. Fonts n Things allows us to use these fonts and image objects.

Fonts n Things did not create any of these fonts or objects but went around the web collecting them so that lazy people like me need not go around searching. All these items are either freeware or shareware. If you want to use them for your projects, read the Terms of Use first.

Friendly Baby & Parenting Resource Site

A couple of hours ago, I had the chance to check out Gurgle.com, a community-centric baby resource site where members gets to share photos of their babies and toddlers on the free baby photo gallery and get information from the various articles on the site at different stages of their pregnancies, watch videos or get your questions answered.

Although I am not a mother myself, I have many friends who are work at home mothers with babies to take care of. These are hands-on modern ladies who opted out from the corporate world so that they can be totally involved in the upbringing of their children.

Gurgle.com would be a great site for these friends. I was just browsing through the database of articles casually but one article that caught my eye is on how to administer basic first aid on the baby. I think that this is very important for every parent to know should an emergency happen at home.

Another article is on traveling with a baby that my friend, Doris, would find useful. She has just returned from Hawaii and Singapore traveling with her family and she tells me that it is very stressful and sometimes spoils her mood of getting a well deserved holiday. I think she is not alone in this!

Free Drum Lessons

Recently, I have been surfing the internet for free music lessons. I actually managed to find free lessons on websites for piano playing, guitar lessons and also drum lessons. I think it’s great that we, adult learners, can learn music at the comfort of our homes away from the eyes of younger music students.

I don’t know why I have always wanted to learn to play the drums but I never did manage that.

Drum Bum is actually a website that I discovered a long time ago but until today, I have never utilized the free drum lessons that are available here on Drum Bum. There are more than a thousand free drum lessons here from beginner’s to advance lessons.

Special Offer At The New Residence Inn

I always think that accommodation eats into our travel budget and I know that I am not the only one who thinks so. Just now, I received the news that The New Residence Inn by Marriott St. Petersburg / Treasure Island Beach is running a special offer with their reopening after a luxurious makeover.

If you remember, Residence Inn, which was previously known as Holiday Inn Treasure Island, was closed for more than two years after being damaged by hurricane. Well, it looks like they took the opportunity to get a complete makeover. Just look at these photos!

The special deal that I mentioned above is that you can get a one bedroom suite for only $199 but this offer is only valid until 31st March, 2008. The normal rate is $389 so if you plan to head that way anytime soon, you have to act fast!

GOLD COAST RESORT RE-OPENS AFTER MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR MAKEOVER

Residence Inn by Marriott St. Petersburg / Treasure Island Beach Unveiled All-New Look

February 1st 2008
TREASURE ISLAND, FLORIDA: After being closed for 28 months from hurricane damage, the former Holiday Inn Treasure Island has re-opened as the brand new and expanded Residence Inn St. Petersburg / Treasure Island Beach, with a completely new look.

The gulf front hotel was shut down in 2004 after Hurricane Jeanne and was essentially stripped to its shell to make way for this transformation. The multi-million dollar renovation included the entire property from its guestrooms and suites to its public space and pool areas. “We are thrilled to re-open as the Residence Inn by Marriott and unveil this great new product for travelers to the Gold Coast and Treasure Island,” said Rick Wilson, general manager of the hotel.

“The enhancements to the hotel are outstanding, from a phenomenal room package including luxury bedding, fully equipped kitchens, separate working, living, sleeping areas and flat panel televisions to a great beachfront pool area. We look forward to welcoming back past guests and an all new set of customers to our wonderful beachfront hotel.”

In addition to the aforementioned enhancements, the hotel also added luxury, one and two bedroom suites with dramatic 11 foot ceilings and sweeping views of the Gulf of Mexico. The relaxed beachfront town of Treasure Island adjacent to both St. Petersburg Beach to it’s south and Madeira Beach to it’s north harkens back to the days of Old Florida — quaint shops, uncrowded beaches and always a friendly hello.

Located on Florida’s Gulf Coast adjacent to world famous John’s Pass, the Residence Inn by Marriott St. Petersburg / Treasure Island Beach is situated oceanfront on Treasure Island — the Sunset Capital of the Florida. The nine-story hotel offers 110 rooms and suites with a range of amenities and services including free high speed internet, grocery shopping service and laundry valet.

The property is convenient to all the area attractions including professional sporting events, eco-adventures, championship golf and acclaimed fishing and water sports. Free Land in Kansas

Image courtesy of Kansas Free Land

When I first started this blog, I was so exciting to have discovered that people could actually gain free land in America. I thought that if you want to own a piece of America, this is the site to try your luck.

However, a couple of days ago, I discovered this website called Kansas Free Land. This site is very different from the one that I discovered a long time ago because this gives you a residential or commercial lot that you actually can build on while the first site only gives you one square inch of land! But it’s still FREE LAND, right?

Of course, when land is given away FREE, there will be terms and conditions attached. I did a check on these and they don’t look like they are too difficult to meet. However, since I am not in America, I cannot really tell.

If you plan to move to Kansas, the heart of America’s West, then check out Kansas Free Land. Maybe you will be eligible for free land in America?

Play Free Online Games At HURAGames

The other day, my friend wanted to recommend me a games site but I didn’t want to know about it because I know that I would get addicted to playing online games and not get my work done but you know what? Today, I have an even better online games site to share and it is called HURAGames!

When I first checked out the site, where their tagline is HURA! Games – Play Our Free Online Flash Games At HURAGames.com, I was rather curious to see what kind of games they have.

I can say that you can find all kinds of games like puzzle games, action games and the classics, among others and the good thing is that you can play all of these online without having to download these games onto your computer.

You may think that you will be able to find these games on some other games site but HURAGames not only allows you to play these all for free, you can also freely embed these games on your blog, if you have one, for free too!

Add Media List Easily to Your Site

If you are a webmaster, then you may want to have a look at this. My Media List is the name of the website and what it does is to allow you to easily place your media list on your blog or website.

First, you will have to create an account with them. After that, embed a code on the template of your blog, positioning it where you prefer it to be. Log into your account and start adding entries which will appear on your site. Cool, eh? Like Google Adsense.

From your account, you can also customize the look of your list to fit the layout of your website or blog. The only problem that I can see is that our account is not able to support more than one website or blog. If this is not true, please let me know!
