Friendly Baby & Parenting Resource Site
A couple of hours ago, I had the chance to check out Gurgle.com, a community-centric baby resource site where members gets to share photos of their babies and toddlers on the free baby photo gallery and get information from the various articles on the site at different stages of their pregnancies, watch videos or get your questions answered.

Although I am not a mother myself, I have many friends who are work at home mothers with babies to take care of. These are hands-on modern ladies who opted out from the corporate world so that they can be totally involved in the upbringing of their children.
Gurgle.com would be a great site for these friends. I was just browsing through the database of articles casually but one article that caught my eye is on how to administer basic first aid on the baby. I think that this is very important for every parent to know should an emergency happen at home.
Another article is on traveling with a baby that my friend, Doris, would find useful. She has just returned from Hawaii and Singapore traveling with her family and she tells me that it is very stressful and sometimes spoils her mood of getting a well deserved holiday. I think she is not alone in this!

I try to get re-certified in First Aid training every two years, but it is always handy to have a printed reference in case you forget in the stress of the moment.
St. John Ambulance offers an Emergency Child Care course that includes CPR – I plan on taking that component now that I am a new parent.
Here is the course description for the Canadian workshop:
This course provides excellent training for parents, grandparents, day care workers, or anyone involved with the care of children from newborn to eight years of age.
Offered in full-day format or flexible multi-day format, it covers Basic First Aid skills and CPR for children and infants.
Time: 8 hours
Fee: $65 per person
