I bought a used car a few months ago and had problems renewing the car insurance because it is an old car. After much hassle, I found an insurance company that was willing to cover my car. As you know, insurance companies think that old cars carry a higher risk and it is worse if the owner is old too. Luckily, age is on my side. Still, I had to pay a huge premium because I didn’t have time to compare policies among insurers as the road tax was expiring soon.
Now that my car can run for another year, I can spend time to compare car insurance and save on it for the coming year. And this time, I am going to make sure that I would not be caught off guard.
iSelect is an Australian insurance company that allows a car owner to compare car insurance easily in one portal. As a car owner, I just have to select my car make, model and year and then transmission, whether automatic or manual, fuel type and car type. For someone who is not familiar with cars, answering questions about the specifications of the car could be pretty tough.
But once you are familiar with the requirements, you will find that iSelect has provided one of the easiest ways to request for and compare car insurance.

Nope, there is no freebie here but if you have an entrepreneurial mind, you would find this promotional idea very interesting indeed. Remember the old days when there were picture books that we have to flip through quickly to “read” the story? I have a cousin, a very creative guy, I must say, who used to draw such stories page by page and gave the booklets to us for our birthdays and other special occasions. That is what we call customized gifts in the old days!
That’s why when I came across this promotional flip book toy by Proflix, I am reminded of my childhood. As a marketer myself (when you run your own small business you ARE everything), I find this small booklet a very interesting promotional idea and guaranteed to capture the attention of consumers. I think these flip books are especially good for companies that promote products to the younger generation where flip books are a novelty to them. As for older people like yours truly, we love them because they reminds us of the old carefree days.
I tell you, appeal is written all over these flip book toys. I believe that anyone who sees such flip books would take a second look and even stop to pick it up. And there, you have the attention of a prospective customer already! These booklets, besides being colorful and graphically attention grabbing, also has snippets of trivia as a way to educate the consumer. What trivia questions should the marketer ask? Obviously, the questions will be related to the products or the company itself. After all, companies would surely like the general public to know more about their products and the company behind the products, right?
One may argue that with the internet and the many things that we could do online on the computer, these booklets may not have the appeal. Well, let me tell most people like to be able to hold something in their hands. People like to keep and to collect and speaking as a collector, Proflix customized flip books that embed up to five seconds of video within and holds different scenes on each side, are something that I would like to collect and pass down to my children. Seriously!
As a consumer, I dare say that promotional flip books by Proflix can certainly fight for our attention alongside any modern technology and hold our attention longer than any other conventional marketing ideas.
Anyway, talking is useless. If you have a product to promote, you really should give flip books a try. I know I would.

More than just the home of the blues and barbeque, Memphis gives you plenty of ways to play around, with fun things to do no matter who you are or what you like. Of course, if you’re into Elvis, rock-and-roll and mouth-watering ribs, you’ve got to check out Graceland, Sun Studios, and the Rendezvous. But Memphis has much more to offer than this holy trinity of southern culture, with enough to see, do and eat to make it the perfect location for your next long weekend getaway.
The families out there (or the wild at heart) should be sure to check out the Memphis Zoo, one of only four U.S. zoos with giant pandas. Recently ranked the #1 zoo in the U.S. by TripAdvisor.com, the Memphis Zoo lets you get up close and personal with the animal kingdom. And with the recent addition the Northwest Passage, home to Polar bears in a see-through underwater exhibit, and the zoo’s newest section, Teton Trek, kids and adults alike are certain to have a blast.
Don’t let your midtown experience stop at the zoo; the Cooper-Young and Overton Square neighborhoods are just down the street. Ask a local Memphian where to find a tasty bite to eat, great local music and ice cold beer, and they will probably direct you here. Speaking of beer … the environmentally conscious visitor can enjoy a locally brewed beer by Ghost River Brewing or walk through the natural landscape and educational facilities at the Lichterman Nature Center.
Memphis has museums for just about everything. From the Civil Rights Museum, Cotton Museum and Fire Museum in downtown to the Brooks Museum, Children’s Museum of Memphis and the Pink Palace Museum further east, the number of places to have fun while you learn are as bountiful as the barbeque restaurants. Families, friends, sports fans, history buffs, self-proclaimed food critics – Memphis has everything you need to keep everyone happy.
So when you visit Memphis, stay a few extra days. Even the locals don’t run out of things to do. And to make it easy, memphistravel.com is launching a new travel guide to help you plan your next vacation. One thing I hate is misleading advertising. So my friend showed me an advertisement this morning from a local travel company which excitedly says that Air Asia is giving away 3,000,000 free air tickets at midnight today. But they also mentioned that this is going to be better than FREE.
I was excited too but when I went to the website of Air Asia to check,. What could be better than free? It turns out that Air Asia is “just” running an air ticket SALE and they are definitely not giving away 3,000,000 air tickets for free. Well, they do give away free air tickets but not this time around!
Anyway, if you are planning to fly somewhere in a few month’s time, it’s probably a good idea to check out what Air Asia has to offer midnight later. I expect tickets to go not as fast as those free tickets but then it is still wise to start planning where you want to go already and when.
My friend, Daniel, asked me about making online payment via PayPal. He said that he has to use it to make payment to a condo owner in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, as he is planning a trip home to visit his extended family. Frankly, I was shocked when he told me how much the condo rates are!
Just this morning, and I am going to let Daniel know pronto, I got to know that Accor Hotels is running a limited time only Asia Pacific city super sale where hotel rates in 27 cities in 10 Asia Pacific countries, including Malaysia, will be reduced by up to 60%.
Booking of rooms has to be done online at the website of Accor Hotels from 23rd to 29th June, 2009, that’s this week itself for stays between July 10th and September 30th, 2009. While different rates may apply for different hotel brands, you can expect to book a room for as low as US$25 per night!
I got to know that this Accor Hotels City Super Sale coincides with airlines slashing air fares to Asia Pacific which means that if Daniel were to take advantage of this sale by Accor Hotels, not only would he save on air fare to Kuala Lumpur, he would also save on accommodation. I think it’s an awesome not to grab these opportunities. Flight and accommodation expenses are what kill our travel budget, anyway!
I first heard of stem cells from a pregnant friend who wanted to preserve the baby’s stem cells in case there was a need for them in the future. I thought to myself that it is too bad that this scientific technology wasn’t available back then during my time.
I later learned that even though we are adults now, ladies have a second chance at insuring their future health and that of their close family members like siblings and children, by preserving stem cells extracted from menstrual blood. Frankly, I used to think that menstruation is something that’s unnecessary but of course I have since changed my mind.
From now until 30th April, 2009, C’elle is running a promotion whereby we could enroll in a stem cell preservation program for only $299, a savings of $400. The promotional code to use is CN400.
The preservation of stem cells is all the more important for people with a family history of illnesses like stroke, cancer, diabetes, heart diseases and other hereditary diseases that are all too common in modern society.
Enrolling in a stem cell preservation program is like taking out health insurance on our future health and that of our close family members. Seriously, $299 is just a small price to pay!
