What a Mother is Worth

I may not be a mother myself but I am so touched when I came across this video at www.WhatAMotherIsWorth.com that I think all women must watch. Do we really know the worth of a mother? There is no monetary value that we can put to it because it is priceless.

Throughout a woman’s lifetime, she holds many roles and responsibilities from a daughter to sister, wife to mother, companion, friend, provider and many more, all rolled into one huge responsibility.

Women usually tend to look down on our own capabilities and self-worth. We are actually as good as men, if not better. My friend, a guy, always motivates me by telling me that I am very intelligent, just that I never realize it.

I think every body, women in particular, should be reminded that we are very useful people who contribute many things to our family, to the community and the society at large.

Do help to spread the message by sending the link to the video to all the women that you know! I am sure we all need such a boost to our morale once in a while!

Free HTML & CSS Tutorials

Can you imagine the amount of snubs I received when I virtually have to beg my friends to help me with my HTML and CSS codes? They say they have no time for me because I keep so many blogs and websites.

It used to be me searching for a solution when I come across a problem and usually find myself at the deep end and need someone to help me rectify my codes.

Today, I decided that I needed to learn the very basics of coding. If I wanted to learn, I might as well do it from the beginning. I knew such lessons are available online but did not know where so I went surfing and came across Draac.com

Draac.com offers tutorials for both HTML and CSS. After all, their tag line is “Building a better internet”. For people who are more adventurous, Draac.com also offers more advanced tutorials. There is a community board where one could ask any HTML questions and other members of the community would be glad to help out. It sure beats asking friends who can’t even spare a minute!

Inspiring Stories Of Triumph Over Substance Abuse

I have many friends who are addicted to alcohol but they never admit it. There are some who MUST get their dose of alcohol every evening. While I think it is perfectly all right to drink beer, I always believe in moderation. These friends of mine drink until they literally crash to the ground.

I try to get them into Alcohol Rehab centers but they refused my help because by doing so, they are admitting they have a problem that they cannot handle.

Today, I came across a very inspiring blog on alcohol and drug rehabilitation. These articles are shared by people who have personally gone through addiction, underwent rehabilitation and came out clean from addiction, successfully conquering their addiction.

I think everyone who has a bad habit to kick should bookmark and read this blog because it tells us that if we are determined to overcome something negative, we can actually do it.

Let’s Kill Some Time

I don’t know about you but there are times when I have so much time on my hands I don’t know what to do. Since the internet is my new best friend, I seek out entertainment on various websites, either by playing games or watching videos from video sharing sites.

One of my latest discoveries is aptly titled Kill Some Time. Boy, do we have time to kill, sometimes! On this website, we can find funny videos, games and pictures plus jokes, flash animations, celebrity shots, audio clips and many more. But don’t worry; they are all neatly categorized either by type or latest media uploaded and also user-rated.

I love to check out media that are highly rated by fellow users. Media with a high rating is usually worth my time to check out. So many people can’t be wrong, can they?

What I am afraid of Kill Some Time is that it is quite addictive. I sometimes find myself spending too much time checking out the videos, and you know, videos need some time to load with my crappy connection!

Introducing A New Revenue Sharing Forum

Some of you may know that I was a forum junkie but since I discovered blogging, I have gone into semi-retirement but that does not keep me entirely away from forumming. I still keep in touch with the forum scene, just that I hardly post. Many of my friends who have started their own forums do look for me to help with starting the forum engine.

Just today, I discovered a new forum at http://www.qooforum.com. Like I said, it is new so I have to warn you that there is not much activity at the moment. However, one of the most exciting things for a member if he joins the forum right at the beginning is to contribute to the forum and see it grow.

QooForum, as it is called, is a revenue sharing forum where members share their ideas on creating revenue on the internet. The let us know what works for them and what does not so that we can stop wasting time with programs that have a low chance of bringing us an income.

Some of the topics that would be in discussion in the near future would be general business, stock and Forex trading, investment into mutual fund and real estate among others. Like any other forum, a forum is not complete without sections for general chat, sports chat, technology and lifestyle chat. However, QooForum has a section for the ladies in particular. Good for them!

Check out QooForum and participate in the various discussions if you could spare the time. The members there are friendly and would accord you a warm welcome.

Promote a Blog To Win Ca$h Prizes!

What does it take to win US$50? Nothing exceptionally difficult and a little luck. That is all. Just so happens that I went to check out the postie forum this morning and came across a blog promotion contest.

Julie from Reviews and More is running a contest where anyone who promotes her new shopping blog, The Chronic Consumer, will be entered into a drawing to win cash prizes ranging from US$10 to US$50.

She only requires you to write a blog post with a minimum of 100 words and linked to her two blogs. You can write just about anything and enter as many times as you wish as long as each unique entry is published on a different blog.

Once you are done, just email Julie and she will reply you to let you know if your post meets her requirements or if it needs some rectification. That is all. Enter soon because the closing date is 30th June, 2007. For more information, do check out the rules and regulations.
