Free Web Graphics

As a cheap0 webmaster, I am always on the look out for free graphics that I could use on my sites and blogs. Some people think that we should not use free graphics and risk looking like another website and if we are serious with our sites, we should custom design our graphics.

Well, I am fine with free graphics and do not see the need to spend money unnecessarily when we can get plenty of graphics for free.

My latest discovery is GraphicFreebies.com. HHmm if you are planning to use any of their graphics, though, you will need to check out their terms of use. Basically, you are not allowed to profit from their free graphics, you can only use them on non-commercial sites and you will have to provide a link back to FreeGraphics.com

Also, like all free graphic sites you cannot hotlink images from the site. Enjoy!

Free 2GB Online Storage

It’s been a while since I knew about DIINO, a free online storage service. Well, if you are online as much as I am, it’s hard to miss their colourful advertising banners, what more when pink is my favourite colour!

Although DIINO is not the one and only website that provides free online storage service, when it is free, I LIKE! I figure that since websites like these do not provide too much storage space, the more accounts you have with various online storage providers, the more stuff you can upload to your accounts and storage your not-so-important files online so that you can access them wherever you are, as long as you are connected to the internet.

As for me, I love to store my media online so that if anything happens to my hard disk, I would still be able to get hold of them, without having to rip my CDs again, or download them *ahem*

Free Downloadable Knitting Patterns

A few of my friends are very good with knitting. Well, I do admit that I attempted to knit before but I never had a proper teacher so my knots are always loose and I end up with something that is good to look at but can’t really wear or use because it could unravel at any time.

A friend offered to teach me but I do not have the time to play with yarns, needles and patterns and neither do at I have patience at this point in my life. However, when I chanced upon this site, Yarn Forward, I thought I would feature it on my blog.

Yarn Forward provides free downloadable patterns for people who love to knit or just learning to knit. They do have a few patterns that they say are good for beginners but they do look pretty complex to me!

Well, check out Yarn Forward to see if there is any pattern that you could use. Maybe you can start a new knitting project from their patterns.

Scream Design Freebies

If you are a regular reader of my other freebie blog, I am sure you will know that I spend a considerable amount of time online searching for free web graphics. I have to say that I really take my hat off to these people who offer free graphics, clip arts, fonts, animations, buttons, web layouts, backgrounds and what-not because of their creativity and they are doing it for free.

I mean, they could easily sell them and people would buy because they are so nice. But me, I am a cheapo and will only keep looking for free stuff. Well, with twenty websites and blogs and counting, free is the keyword here.

Today, I chanced upon a whole database of free web graphics so kindly being offered for free by Scream Design. Everybody, scream for free freebies and they herd us, I guess. Anyway, if free web graphics, themes, layouts, sounds, flash, etc, are what you have been looking for, check out these freebies from Scream Designs. You will need to register with them in order to gain access, through. But that’s not a big problem, is it?

Free Blogger Business Cards

If you are a semi-professional blogger, I believe you would appreciate a business card so that you could get your blogs out to more people. When more people know about your blogs, you will get higher traffic and so on.

And for people like my friends who have tens of blogs to their names, they definitely NEED a business card to list out their blogs. Heck, even they themselves do not remember their own URLs. hehe

OOPrint.com is giving away 100 free business cards and blogger business cards. Right now, they have 33 preset layouts which we can use for free. To get your own free business cards or free blogger cards, you would have to select your preferred design and then fill out your name and other relevant information.

These cards are free but you would have to pay for shipping, but that’s better than nothing. Heehee!

Free Audio Files Download

I was searching for free audio this morning, after being told of a site that we can download free audio files except that we had to pay for them. BUT you know that I am a cheapo and that I would not pay for anything unless I absolutely have to. And I certainly do not have to pay for audio files because there surely are websites out there offering free audio files for download?

I stumbled upon this free samples and loops website which I have to say, on first sight, looks like a MFA website. I didn’t even realise there was any free audio files for download until I clicked on one of the links at the top of the page. Yeah, they blend the colours so well.

Anyway, after clicking on the link, I was taken to another page and then only was I given the download link. Phew!!! I have not downloaded these free music files yet because we would need a Bittorrent client for that and I do not have it in my computer. So that will have to wait. Bah!

Submit Your Site To A Free Web Directory

Every webmaster knows that the more backlinks we get for our website or blog, the better it is in terms of search engine ranking and potential rise in PageRank. However, do keep in mind that only relevant backlinks on quality sites matter so you should be careful where you place them!

As a webmaster myself, I prefer to get my links listed in quality web directories that are search engine friendly. You can get your links out by leaving comments on the blogs of other bloggers but there’s no guarantee that these comments that you have spent so much time writing will be published by the bloggers. It is their prerogative, anyway!

Submitting your sites to web directories, on the other hand, is easier in the sense that as long as you have a legitimate site, relevant to the category you are submitting to and meet the basic requirement of the directory, then you are guaranteed one backlink.

As for me, I am sure you know that I love free stuff. I will never want to pay to be listed on a web directory so I will only submit to a web directory for free. Why pay when you can get similar quality backlink on a free web directory, right?

Check it out. No matter what people say about websites not getting any benefit from online directories, it is not true. Try submitting your links to as many quality directories are possible and you will see a difference.
