I have featured some games site before and all of them were for PC games. Ah… did I miss out MAC users? I have been told that MAC users are always left out of all the fun because they don’t have as wide a variety of programs as PC users.

But never mind, I am going to make it up today. Here’s a site called Download MAC Games which let’s you do what else but download MAC games!!

Download MAC Games has eight pages of MAC games where you can download and to your machine and play. Some are freeware some are shareware games. It is up to you to decide how much you are willing to pay for a game.

Easily sieve through the type of games you are interested in by sorting them according to genre. So who says that PC users have all the fun, eh?

11 October – National Coming Out Day

October 11th is National Coming Out Day – A day for GLBTs (Gays, lesbians, bisexuals and trans genders to “come out” to celebrate living live openly and honestly as GLBTs. The Human Rights Campaign Action Center which runs the site, TALK ABOUT IT, is giving away coming out day kit which includes guides, posters, balloons, stickers or other things.

Individuals can request for these kits through the website of Human Rights Campaign Action Center. These kits come in two sizes depending on the number of people in your get-together. HRC does not allow other people to request for these kits on behalf of, that means only GLBTs may request for them. Do take note.

I wonder if “Coming Out Day” is celebrated elsewhere.

Free Self Publishing Guide – Become a Published Author!

Not many people know this but I once dreamt of being a published poet. I sent in my drafts to many publishing houses but they were not interested and some told me that poetry cannot sell and they would not want to invest into an unknown.

If I had known of Self Publishing, I would be a published author by now but I have gotten so many rejections until I believe that they are right, I am not any good in poetry writing so I better forget about it!

Yesterday, I came to know of Author House, a company that assist people like me in becoming published authors. Author House has a team of experts who would be able to guide us no matter if we are publishing our first, second or tenth book.

Author House is giving away a free copy of self publishing guide which you can request for by just filling out a form provided on their website. I noticed that in the form, there is a field for promotional code. I was surprised that they have that for authors too. Good job!

You know what? I think it’s time to dig out my drafts!

IHT Survey Prize Drawing For £500

I received an invitation from the International Herald Tribune to participate in their new survey. I am on their mailing because I opted in when I participated in a previous survey. The reason I opted in is because IHT has very interesting surveys occasionally and the prize draws are always very attractive.

This time, IHT is holding a drawing for £500 prize draw. Is that attractive enough? That’s almost $3500 in my currency, Ringgit, and all for answering a survey which takes five to ten minutes at the most to complete.

Goodies like a free trial for ecommerce software cannot escape a freebie hunter like me so I was delighted to discover that Ashop Commerce is offering a ten day no-hassle obligation free full trial for its shopping cart software. You may wonder why this is good news to me. As you know, I am an online merchant, a minor player only, though, and have not been too happy with my current ecommerce software. With this trial, I will have the chance to try another shopping cart and maybe this will be my perfect solution.

You may know that it is not cheap to buy a fully integrated shopping cart like this so it is a brilliant idea for Ashop Commerce to allow us to test it out before committing ourselves. Besides looking for a total ecommerce solution, what I am looking for is ease of use and user-friendliness. And I believe I am not alone. Well, I HOPE I am not alone. I can’t be that stupid, right??

Whatever the case, if you are currently using a shopping cart software, there’s no harm in giving this a trial run.

BBC Wildlife is a new magazine from BBC and they have the online version too. One thing I like about BBC is that they always open their contests to the world because their BBC Radio and TV programmes can be received all over the world.

A humidifier is very important when there are elderly folks living at home. I was advised to get a couple of humidifiers for the bedrooms but have been thinking of the cost.
