MyWay Photo Contests: Mother’s Day, Father’s Day & Graduation

A reader wrote to me to let me know of a photo contest that he came across. This photo contest is a collaboration between Fujifilm and Rite Aid Pharmacy so you can expect some really generous prizes up for grabs!

There are three categories in this photo contest; Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Graduation. Actually, this seasonal photo contest began on 1st May, 2010 but I am lazy and only managed to post this up today. Anyway, fret not. If you are interested, this contest ends on June 26, 2010 at 11:59:59 p.m. Eastern Time so there is still plenty of time.

This contest is only open to legal residents of the United States or the District of Columbia who are 18 years old or older. I wonder, because these are “people” photo contest, if the entrants are required to obtain release letters from their “models”.

Digital Freebies For Photographers, Scrapbookers & Designers

A friend told me to feature this website called “HG Designs”, strangely, the name of the blog is totally different from the URL, because it has many digital freebies for photographers, scrapbook enthusiasts and designers which she found useful in her home projects.

All these freebies are for personal use only and those who would like to use them on commercial projects would have to purchase a commercial use license.

Even though I am not a digital scrapbooking hobbyist, I still love to check out digital freebies like these because I appreciate the creativity put into the designs and wonder why I cannot be as creative myself.

Free Quality Cross Stitch Designs

While I was searching online for something else, I had the luck to bump into this website called Stitch Alley that offers a wide range of free cross stitch designs. When I was still in school, I loved to cross stitch but I never know the correct way of doing it. So although my cross stitch handiwork looked fine in front, don’t even flip my cloth. You’ll see all those thread zig zagging!

Anyway, if you love cross stitch, you really should check out the designs that are available on Stitch Alley. Sure there are some designs that are for sale but for cheapo freebie lovers like us, we only aim for the free stuff, right? Hehehe!

Oh yes, let me know if you find these cross stitch designs up to your standard. Happy stitching!

Natural Breast Lift and Augmentation

My friend forwarded this photo to me the other day, saying it’s a sad day for tennis. It’s a photo of promising Romanian tennis star, Simona Halep, who declared that she would be going for a breast reduction surgery because the weight of her breasts is hampering her tennis play. Her fans, though, are crying foul, for obvious reasons.

People are very funny. While every other person I know wants to get a breast augmentation surgery, Simona Halep is blessed with naturally big breasts. What a lucky girl! If she isn’t a professional tennis player, she shouldn’t even go for a reduction surgery, shouldn’t even think about it!

I have seen my friends who underwent breast augmentations transformed not only physically but their whole personality changed. I think they are more confident of themselves and their self-esteem seems sky-high.

I too need to boost my self-confidence but I certainly don’t need the extra weight on my chest. However, I can do with a tummy tuck surgery since my tummy seems to grow bigger by the day and no, I am not pregnant! It’s all fat, unfortunately!

But knowing myself, I’m just all talk. I dare not go under the knife unless it’s absolutely necessary. A tummy tuck is certainly not a matter of life and death. I can still live with a little fat on my body.

GREENIES® Show Us Your Smile Dog Contest

Although I no longer keep a dog because of awful experiences in the past, I still love dogs, a lot. I always look out for dog freebies or samples and most of all, dog photos that will always bring a smile to my face. My friend showed me this photo of a dog smiling and I smiled along with him. So cute, right?

If you have a dog, you can enter him or her into this GREENIES competition where you stand to win One year of free GREENIES® products plus have the photo of your dog on the cover of The Bark magazine, Sept. 2010 issue. It would surely be a proud moment for any pet owner!

In any case, all entrants will receive a free trial copy of The Bark so even if your dog does not receive enough votes to win the competition, at least you won’t be empty handed!

Free Credit Counseling

No thanks to the recent economic downturn that dragged on for almost two years, the effect which many of us are still reeling from, a lot of my friends are still unemployed. The shocking thing is that many people confessed to using their credit card advance to live from day to day.

I have a friend who told me that he is very nervous about his mounting credit card bills. He feels as if he is trapped in a vicious circle of paying off his credit card bills and yet it never seems to end. How could it when he only pays the minimal amount while the balance is being charged an exorbitant daily interest rate?

I think my friend should consider credit card consolidation so that he is only faced with a single repayment at the end of the month. From what I understand, he may even enjoy a lower interest rate than what he is currently being charged.

If my friend would admit that he has a financial crisis on his hands, I would recommend him this free consumer credit counseling service which would surely help him manage his finances better. Not only is it free, it’s obligation-free too.

Undergoing consumer credit counseling is actually very common these days. There is nothing to be ashamed of. If it’s a positive step to take to enable one to get a good grip of his finances, why not, right?

High Quality Photoshop Freebies

I was actually searching for free WordPress themes this morning when I somehow came upon this Photoshop freebies website called Scarletbits. You know, although I have featured quite a few websites that offer Photoshop freebies, I think I prefer those freebies that are offered by female designers. I think it’s because of the feminine touch.

On Scarletbits, although you will notice that the most recent freebie offered was last Christmas, it is still worth spending time here going through the few pages of Photoshop freebies. I am not looking for anything in particular but I still enjoyed myself flipping through pages of Photoshop brushes, patterns, actions, textures, vectors, backgrounds, fonts, PSD templates and other free web elements. I m sure you would too!
