Free Maps of the World

Is it true that most women are bad with directions while men were born to read maps? I know that I myself am bad with directions but I do not know about other women. Men, though, like to pretend that they have no problems with directions but it’s mostly just pretence!

Today, I stumbled upon a website called Maps.com. Just like its name says, this site is all about maps. I know my father, a former King Scout, will be overjoyed with this information as he loves maps and has a collection of maps of various countries. He even has a box of topo plans.

If maps are your thing, you should check out Maps.com. They have a selection of free maps which you could save to your local computer. However, if you would like your maps in poster, you would have to purchase.

Free Woodwork Designs & Plans

Summer is the time where most men will be tinkering with stuff at home and involved in DIY stuff. I have a friend who is very good with woodwork, I think he went to a vocational school or something, and he would spend hours putting stuff together for his own home and as gifts for friends. My father is OK with carpentry as well but his workmanship is not as fine as my friend’s.

This morning, I bumped into a website that offers free woodwork project plans for anyone interested to build low-stress furniture. I think my friend would be delighted to know about it. It beats having to draw plans himself, you know?

If you are also interested in guy’s stuff like these, you will have to fill out an order form for the free woodwork plans. Woodware Designs has a huge database of woodware projects that you would order free but there’s a 2-project per 24-hour limit.

Who does not love freebies? I love them but it is just too bad, yet again, that this free t-shirt offer is only valid in the United States, Canada and European Union. Bah! How come all the goodies are not available here? I think I need to migrate LOL

Free Guest Book

I wanted a guestbook for my personal website so I asked a friend how much he will be charging to help me implement one. He wanted to charge me US$25, saying that he will be writing the code for me from scratch.

Too bad I thought that it was too expensive and unwilling to pay his price. He then said that a guest book is out of fashion already. Who cares, anyway? I like it and so, I want it.

Anyway, I went looking for the script of a free Guestbook and found this website, Guestbook Central, which offers free guestbook. HHmm I will try to implement it on my website and see how it goes. Hope that it is not that difficult to do. My brains can’t process things that are too complex!

Free Scrapbooking Designs & Contests

You may recall me mentioning that my sister is into scrapbooking lately. She has not discovered the convenience of digiscraping so is still doing it the conventional way, buying material from the store.

I told her that she could get plenty of scrapbooking material online without having to buy and I believe I have come across many websites that offer free scrapbooking designs.

D.A.I.S.I.E. Company is just one of these sites that offer freebies to scrapbooking hobbyists and enthusiasts. No doubt, they are a commercial site and they sell most of these designs but they do have a few freebies to give away once in a while and also run contests where members could submit their scrapbook creations and win fabulous prizes.

While randomly surfing looking for freebies, like I always do when I have some free time on the computer, I chanced upon this freebie giveaway from Banana Hockey.

It looks to me like Banana Hockey is a yet to launch online store that retails in hockey apparel and accessories but I could be wrong.

All I am interested in is their promise of a free Banana Hockey t-shirt or cap by just signing up with them. Is a FREE T-shirt or a FREE cap good enough reason for you to sign up to their mailing list? If it is, then get in their list right now before they launch in 12 days’ time!

Free Cute Fonts

I am sure by now you know that I love to check out new fonts. I may not have the time, energy or mood to change the fonts on my websites and webstore, but still, it is a habit and if I do have the time to do it, at least I know that I could easily refer to my own blog for free font sites that I like.

PickFonts.com is the latest free font site that I came across. I won’t say that I love all these free fonts but what I like are their cartoon fonts, comic fonts, shape fonts, music fonts, kids fonts and Valentine fonts!

I think I must have missed out some of the other fonts that I like as well, but there are simply too many to list out!
