Download Green Minimalist Icon Set

I have been searching all over the web for icon sets that I could incorporate in my iPhone skins that I am building. Some icon sets are only for personal use so I couldn’t make use of them. Don’t get me wrong, my iPhone skins are also free to download but I am not sure if personal use means that I am not supposed to distribute them in a different form.

Anyway, in my search, I chanced upon this really neat green icon set. It is in minimalist style and very clean looking. The best this is that from what I understand, we can use this icon set on the web or even in apps. I think I can use them in my iPhone skin too.

If you are going to use this, perhaps you can drop a comment here to let me know what you are using it for!

Free Chinese New Year Desktop Wallpapers

Chinese New Year is this14th February and you know, I believe no adult looks forward to it because everything costs so much more. Moreover, married people would have to give out red money packets to single relatives and children. Worse, if your red money packet is small, you would lose respect from the kids!!

Anyway, here is something that I found for Chinese New Year that is absolutely free. These are Chinese New Year desktop wallpapers that are available for free download. Unfortunately for this coming Chinese New Year which is the Year of the Tiger, there is only one wallpaper that is suitable to be used. Luckily, it’s nice enough. Just click on the Download button to grab it.

Even though at this point there is only one Year of the Tiger Chinese New Year desktop wallpaper, it is a good idea to bookmark this website so that you can come back the following years. There is at least one for each year of the Chinese animal horoscope!

Stories For My Little Sister

While browsing for freebies, I as supposed to look for free banners for a website that I am planning to set up with a friend, I stumbled upon this pretty unique website for children. It is called “Stories For My Little Sister” and is a website that contains downloadable original stories written by an older sister for her younger sister who loves to draw. Unique, eh?

I don’t have children of my own yet so I haven’t downloaded any of the stories available here on this website but I am surely going to let my friends, who are young mothers, know about it so that they can download these stories with colourful drawings for their children.

Freebie Patterns & Backgrounds

I came upon this massive wall of patterns, which could also be used as backgrounds for your website or blog, earlier this morning. I have to say that I really like this no-frills concept since we can look at all the patterns available in one page and select the one that catches our eye.

Clicking on any of the patterns, we can see the larger version of it and if we like it, there is a button for us to download the pattern. Like I said, totally no-frills and exactly the kind of website layout that I like.

With so many patterns to choose from, more than 150 at this time of writing, it really is not going to be an easy decision to make for anyone looking for free patterns. Worry not, though, there aren’t too many clicking to do when you make your selection. LOL

Digital Scrapbooking Freebies

If I have been featuring one too many websites that offer digital scrapbooking freebies, I apologize. I really can’t help it, though. I love digital scrapbooking freebies even though I am not a digital scrapbooking hobbyist. I really take my hat off o these designers who are offering their lovely creations for free and I know that readers would love to know of yet another freebie source for quality digital scrapbooking elements.

I tell myself that I would like to pick up this hobby but I really have no creativity at all, even if I may have the time to indulge in a new hobby now. My mind goes blank wondering what to do with all these beautiful digital scrapbooking pages!

If you are making use of these freebies, do drop us a line here so that we could all share in your work.

Digital Freebies

I really love digital scrapbooking, especially if it is used as a website or blog layout. It really is a pity that I do not know how to design something like this myself. This morning, I chanced upon this eCommerce website called Digital Freebies. The layout is very simple but still impressive.

Although Digital Freebies is a commercial website selling digital scrapbooking layouts and elements, the site offers freebies as well. Currently, I can only see two free downloads now but I believe that this is a serious website and more freebies will be added later on. I’ve got it bookmarked already.

Oh, before I forget, check the terms of use first before downloading and using. Complying with the TOS would mean that we get to enjoy even more quality freebies in the future.

2010 will be upon us soon enough. I am sure we are all sourcing for free calendars already. I thought of printing some cute ones online but then the thought of using my expensive printer ink made me change my mind.

Anyway, I found this really appetizing calendar thanks to Pillsbury. The catch is we will have to sign up for their email newsletter only will they send us the calendar. SIGH… nevermind, I’m sure all of us have a back up junk email account already, right? Teehee!

Unfortunately, this freebie offer is only limited to the United States. If you qualify, sign up early with Pillsbury as this offer expires on 31st December, 2009. As always, allow 6 – 8 weeks for delivery.
