Freebie Patterns & Backgrounds

I came upon this massive wall of patterns, which could also be used as backgrounds for your website or blog, earlier this morning. I have to say that I really like this no-frills concept since we can look at all the patterns available in one page and select the one that catches our eye.

Clicking on any of the patterns, we can see the larger version of it and if we like it, there is a button for us to download the pattern. Like I said, totally no-frills and exactly the kind of website layout that I like.

With so many patterns to choose from, more than 150 at this time of writing, it really is not going to be an easy decision to make for anyone looking for free patterns. Worry not, though, there aren’t too many clicking to do when you make your selection. LOL

Free Crochet Patterns

I always wanted to learn to crochet properly. I used to do it in my own way and my knots kept getting undone and my yarn unravels, spoiling my handiwork. I thought that if I could do it properly, I would have many things to crochet but I guess I will never be able to find the time. If I do have the time, I would probably prefer to rest my fingers! LOL

In any case, I do have a few friends who are very good with crocheting. They get their crochet patterns from imported magazines, which I thought is pretty costly. Yarn and accessories are not cheap already, you know, so they should think of saving a little money in other ways to indulge in their hobby!

Happy Yellow House! has a good selection of free crochet patterns for non-commercial use. If you have no project to work on, it’s a good time to check out Happy Yellow House! for fresh crochet ideas.

Free Appliqué Patterns

I actually found this website very interesting because I really admire people who could create amazing craft work. Well, I can sew a little but absolutely have no passion for it.

This website, free appliqué, allows people to download appliqué pattern for their quilts, crafts and clipart and many more. There are so many patterns available that it is really up to your imagination how to make the best out of the patterns.

Apart from the free appliqué patterns, you can also get free baby quilt patterns or get ideas for your craft projects. Some people I know find crafting and quilting really therapeutic. As for me, I get all stressed out trying to get the perfect stitch! Well, I think I better not make any myself and resolve to just admire the work of others!

Do you like the pattern found here? Are they useful for you? Let me know!
