Quite a few of my friends, who are young mothers, are absolutely crazy about Bento, the cute Japanese lunch boxes. Packing Bentos is an art form called Bento Art and if you search the web for Bento art images, you surely would be blown away by their creativity.

I really do not have time for Bento or Bento Art but then I don’t have children. Even though I am busy, I still have time to appreciate Bento and Bento art from the blogs of friends who indulge in this popular Japanese art form.

If you are looking for Bento recipes, no matter if you are new to Bento art or an old hand already, Makiko Itoh runs this blog called Just Bento where you will be able to find awesome free Bento recipes. Makiko is Japanese, obviously, so you cannot get more authentic Japanese Bento recipes than these!

A friend told me that he is paying a monthly subscription to play an online game. The game is very popular but I still do not see why someone should PAY to PLAY when there are so many other free games to play online. The sum is not much, but still! This friend also plays Pet Society and Restaurant City on Facebook with me but he says that they are not as exciting as the game that he is paying to play.

I found this very interesting game site called Daily Games which I am sure, if I find that the games are interesting enough, so would many other people, since my standard is HIGH and it is not that easy to capture my attention. Let’s see if the games here on Daily Games, which is regularly updated with new games, would interest him enough to stop paying his monthly game subscription. LOL

While surfing the web randomly looking for nice freebies, I chanced upon this website called Newtek. Honestly, the name of this website doesn’t suggest anything nice or creative but it does give an impression of being hi-tech.

Out of curiosity, I visited the website and they do have freebies to give away. As far as I could see, they have a pretty quality collection of textures for download. The catch is that you would have to register as a member of Newtek website or forum to access all these freebies and more.

If you intend to download freebies from Newtek and use them, do check the terms of use first. Some designers may not allow you to use their freebies for commercial purposes.

A friend, whose son is slightly autistic, told me that the doctor advised her to take up a short speech course in the capital city so that she could guide her son since at the age of six now, he still could hardly string a full sentence.

I understand from my friend that these courses are obscenely expensive even though the total cost of the course fees are to be shared among the parents who would be participating. But then my friend would also need to take accommodation and transportation costs into consideration since she is an out of town-er. This is why after a year, my friend has yet to enroll in the course.

Don’t you just love visiting the websites of graphic designers? I guess, even if the website of blog is non-commercial, the author still needs to make have a really artistic and creative layout to fit the theme of the site. If it’s a commercial site, with freebies, all the more the site has to be really captivating to showcase the talent of the owner.

I found this web designer site called My Grafico while looking for freebies just now. I believe this is the first time I landed on the site. I am pleasantly surprised to have found a whole load of quality freebie graphics. It looks to me like there are many contributing designers.
