Kilimanjaro Climbs and Worldwide Treks

I have a friend who is very adventurous. When she has conquered all the mountains in the country, she still hankered for more and joined climbing expeditions abroad. Although I am not as adventurous as her, I enjoy listening to her travel tales and the challenge she found climbing some of the famous mountains in the world.

Besides mountain climbing and trekking, she loves back packing too. What a free spirit she is.

She told me about Tusker Trail, which is founded by Eddie Frank who has thirty years of experience climbing Kilimanjaro and climbed the mountain just as many times. In such climbs, safety is of utmost importance so it is a blessing that Eddie himself is a medical professional and has highly competent trained staff to guide tourists up the mountain.

Before you decide to climb that mountain and put yourself through the “torture” I think you would be wise to get to know the place better by requesting for a free brochure from Tusker Trail. While you are at the site of Tusker Trail, why not watch the amazing Kilimanjaro on video?

Free Web Templates & Clipart

As you may recall, I bought a domain name recently but am too cheap to pay for the services of a web designer. I thought that I could set up my website as cheaply as possible and one of the things I am doing is to search for suitable web templates.

I noticed that most templates, although they may be free, are most for commercial websites. Mine is more of a personal nature so looking for a free template that I like isn’t as easy as I thought.

Anyway, I came across some interesting flash templates and clipart from Template Monster. Although the site primarily SELLS templates, and they don’t come cheap too, there are a few pages of templates and clipart that can be downloaded and used for Free. So they are not all bad, eh? 😀

It’s My Market Free Classifieds & More

I came across an interesting website called It’s My Market which not only provides free classifieds serving the United Kingdom but also an online dating service, free blogs, weather reports, local cinema listings, traffic reports, forums, competitions and many more interesting activities.

I think that It’s My Market is a great community portal not only because it is free but the people seem like real nice and hospitable. Since my cousin is working in London, I most definitely will tell her about It’s My Market. She has been complaining that she has NO friends there in London and life is very boring and uneventful. Hopefully, she can make new friends here with her blog and the forum or maybe also participate in online dating!

All in all, a site that I would join if I were in the United Kingdom!

SpamBog – Free Disposable Email Address

If you spend as much time online as I do, I am sure you will need a disposable email address. Many times, I signed up with websites for a certain service or to try out something and I end up being spammed. No doubt, some sites ASSURE us of not sending us unsolicited email but not all will hold true their promise.

If you just take a look at my inbox, I am sure you won’t relish spending time everyday just clearing out the junk. What to do, I do not even remember where I signed up for stuff and which companies are sending me mailings, updates and advertisements anymore.

Since I discovered SpamBog, I have stopped receiving new junk. Whenever I am required to provide a valid email address, SpamBog comes to my rescue. SpamBog has a toolbar that we can install on our FireFox browser enabling us to access our SpamBog inbox directly from our toolbar.

SpamBog is not just a disposable email address, of course. With it, you can send, reply, save or print your messages. I love it that we can send out “Failed Delivery” messages to bounce off email from people whom we no longer want to receive mails from! Best of all, this is a FREE service.

Free Gif Animations

I was browsing the internet for mages to put on my new personal homepage. Actually came across quite a few websites that allows us to use their images for free but GIF Animations is by far the largest and orignal collection of GIF images.

If you have a slow internet connection, navigating this website could be a pain because the images are displayed one per page so you will need to click to view every image. Although I have a broadband connection I think it is too time consuming to view the images one by one before selecting the images that I want.

I feel that it would be better if all the images in one category are displayed in a single page and clicking on the image will bring us to a single image per page. That would be more user-friendly.

Free eCard & eMail Reminder Service

I was actually searching for a good email reminder service because I am getting busier and busier that I do not remember important dates like birthdays and anniversaries and it makes me feel very guilty.

What prompted me to search for this without further delay was when a friend told me that he had forgotten the birthday of his best friend and I was like, “Whoa, best friend’s birthday also can forget!” Of course, I do not want to be in his shoes!

In my search, I came across Big Dates. This website is actually a cross between an email reminder service and a free greeting card website.

What I like about Big Dates is that it sends reminders to email or cell phone for birthdays, anniversaries and even holidays AND they always have a suggestion or two for an appropriate ecard to send out.

The site also enables us to turn our digital photos into unique paper cards which we can print out or to send them as ecards for free. Or we can select one of their paper cards and have it sent to our recipient for only $2.49 inclusive of postage within America. Wonderful!

Free Commercial Website Images

If you have tried to set up a company website or ecommerce site, you will know that there aren’t that many nice images that you can use for free. Many websites do charge a certain fee when their images are used for commercial purposes.

However, today I stumbled upon a website that lets us download their images from their huge database for use for free on our commercial website. To use their free or paid images, you have to comply with their very simple terms.

Just remember to download all images to your own computer and store in your own server. You are not allowed to hotlink the images. They did not mention it though, but I figured that if you are using their free images, that it is courteous to give Site Res an acknowledgment and a link back.
