Free Expert SAT Test Prep & College Planning Advice

One of the few things that I regret in life is that I did not prepare well for my exams and hence was not able to go to the college of my dreams. Now that I am in the working world, I have hang ups about my lack of a good college education. This is of course not something I wish to happen to even my worse enemies because a sound college education surely opens a lot more doors.

Today, I came across a website called ePrep.com which provides Expert SAT Test Prep & College Planning Advice, owned by a Princeton educated SAT tutor with fifteen long years of experience.

Expert advice on preparing for the dreaded SAT test is rendered via video blogging and articles written in easy to understand everyday language. One of the articles that caught my eye is preparing for SAT under $25. I remember how costly it was and being from a not-so-well-to-do family, it was very tough on me.

On ePrep.com, a student can also sit for an online diagnostic test. It sort of prepares the student on what to expect in a real SAT exam environment. After taking the test and being graded, the student can get a review where he will be shown how to answer those questions with precise answers and strategy in video. I think this feature is excellent in helping students to prepare for the SAT.

If you are preparing for SAT or know of someone who is, do check out ePrep.com as soon as possible for better preparation.

Free Webhosting By Portland Communications

A friend asked me if there is any free hosting available. I have previously also searched the internet before and managed to find a couple of sites that provide that without advertisements. Those are very rare.

Today, my search turned up a new result and this free hosting is provided by Portland Communications, a British company. According to the website, this free webhosting package of 15MB of web space supports all domain names and if you do not have a domain name, you can use a free sub-domain name.

Since Portland Communications is an internet service provider, I am not sure if this free offer is only available to their customers only, to British residents only, to anyone who applies. However, they did say that you cannot host copyrighted files like mp3 files unless you are the legal owner.

Anyway, I already told my friend about this and let her try applying.

Free Unsigned Bands Music Downloads

I just discovered a fairly new British music entertaiment website which recently launched a music chart for unsigned bands. I think this will provide wonderful much needed exposure to unsigned bands and hopefully, they can get that breakthrough that they are all seeking.

Ths website is free to join and all music makers and lovers are welcomed to sign up. Only on Tour Dates can you find an unsigned chart with free music downloads.

Thanks to Tour Dates, British unsigned bands can now upload their music to the site to share with other people and promote their brand and band by announcing gig dates. It would do them do to have a very interesting band profile page too.

Tour Dates allow such bands to promote themselves alongside more established bands and I think that all unsigned bands should grab this golden opportunity.

tourdates.Co.UK, Britains fastest growing new music website, has launched a chart for unsigned bands.

The site allows new bands to upload promotional tracks, announce gig dates and create profiles to promote themselves alongside major artists such as the Artic Monkeys and The Twang.

Tourdates Jarrod Robinson says, there are some fantastic unsigned bands in the UK and we wanted them to know how much our community likes their music, an unsigned chart seemed the perfect answer.

Chart results are announced on the site at 19:00 every sunday, the sametime as the No1 single of the week is announced on BBC’s radio 1.

Education & Edutainment For Kids

Here is another education cum entertainment website for children. This site aims to improve literacy among children across the world. The site offers free download of books and other fun stuff like clip art and animated backgrounds.

Although this site is primarily for kids from a disadvantaged background, underprivileged, physically challenged or with special needs, it does not mean that adults can download the book or clip art, ok? They are free so do help to spread the word to share the goodies with as many people as possible.

Please take note that Lullalee Productions accepts donations to help support their cause in providing and serving these children with their literacy programs from around the world.

Lullalee Productions also have a gift store where sales received will be channeled to their programs as well. So do help to spread the word, will you?

The Rundown on LA

I just came across this website that is aptly called The Rundown. What it does it actually very simple BUT it sure helps to clue in people on what is hot and what is not, especially when we are on a tight schedule, we do want to make the most of our free time.

This site, though caters primarily to men, is just as useful to women too.

All activities center around Los Angeles, United States but I believe that this concept will spread to other cities across America soon!

If you want to be clued in on the latest outing trends, sign up with The Rundown to get your daily email alerts! It’s hassle-free and most importantly, FREE!

Free Online Piano Lessons

I have always wanted to learn the piano but growing up, my parents have been too poor to afford anything more than our basic education. Recently, I bought a piano because my friend has a shop that sells piano and other musical instruments near my house.

Unfortunately, I feel that I am too old to take formal lessons and prefer to learn to play privately at my own pace.

That was how I came across free Chords & Progressions Piano Tips online at PlayPiano.com

I hope that in addition to my friend’s lessons and my “private learning” from the internet, I would get to play like a semi-pro soon!

Postcards From Hawaii

I have never had the opportunity to visit Hawaii before but it is a place that is at the top of one of my “must visit” places. My fascination with Hawaii began when I first got to know my Hawaiian pen-pal, Gypsy.

Gypsy has told me many good things about Hawaii and recommended me websites that features Hawaii exclusively. One site that she frequents is Postcards-Hawaii.com

This website allows anyone to send out electronic postcards that features Hawaii and its people. Gypsy told me that she has used many of the postcards here to introduce people to Hawaii and it has been very effective in attracting people’s interest. Personally, I myself have received quite a handful of Hawaii postcards from this website but I also have the privilege of receiving REAL postcards through airmail but that is another matter all together.

Check out the many beautiful images of Hawaii from Postcards-Hawaii.com and be transported to the scenic tropical island through them.
