When I was searching for Photoshop freebies, I have to admit that this website looks really familiar. However, as a blogger running tow freebie blogs, I could hardly remember if I have featured a certain freebie website or blog before. Running eight active blogs, I cannot remember what I blog about sometimes unless the topic is really outstanding.

If I wrote about Photoshop Freebies before, then forgive me. However, this is a very resourceful site and possibly since the earlier post, if I did it, there would have been new Photoshop freebies already.

Photoshop Freebies is a collection of Photoshop freebies that were found all over the internet so that it would be easier for you. Check out the many Photoshop freebies that the owner of the site has found through time.

Free Desktop Blog Publishing – Windows Live Writer

I downloaded, installed and set up Windows Live Writer last evening. I knew about this wonderful application for a long time now but just never gotten around to downloading it. I have used it already, and love it. Publishing posts to my various blogs is quite a breeze provided the internet connection is stable as well, which it isn’t right now!

I have set up eight blogs with it but for my freebie blogs, I find formatting my posts taking too much time because of the images. Perhaps I am not used to it yet but I find that I write and publish faster without using Windows Live Writer for these blogs.

As for other blog posts that do not usually have images, for both Blogger and WordPress self-hosted blogs, Windows Live Writer is an excellent tool for bloggers to have, especially bloggers who run multiple blogs.

Over the years of running two freebie blogs, I have come across some pretty weird freebies and such. This one, I just came across and I thought it’s pretty odd.

If you know me personally, you would know that I love animals, especially dogs. If money is of no concern, I would set up an animal shelter. No, I don’t want to set up a shelter where the animals are caged up. I would love to give them the freedom to roam! Yes, that would require plenty of land and of course, money. SIGH!

Today, I decided to check out animal freebies on the web. I know there are many, but most of them are only available to residents in the United States and/or Canada. Oh well, there’s nothing we, who are living outside of North America, could do.

As luck would have it, I stumbled upon this website called Talk To the Vet and they have a collection of free animal coloring pages for children. To grab one, or all, of these coloring sheets which include those of fish, cars, dogs and birds, just click on the thumbnail and print out the large image. Each coloring sheet comes with a “tip” on caring for that particular pet.

I was checking for freebies on the web this morning and stumbled upon this website, Design Shard. I love their web template but black is really a difficult colour on many older people’s eyes. Anyway, if you are looking for free web design elements, Design Shard has a very huge collection of freebies that we could download and use on our own web projects.

As with all such freebies, do check the terms or use first before using them. You may be required to provide a link back to the designer or maybe these are not meant for commercial purposes. Whatever it is, comply with the terms as stipulated by the designer and there will be even more freebies to come.

2009 Man Asian Literary Prize

Although I write many articles and blog posts daily, actually have been writing since I was in my teens and even thought that I would love to be a published author and poet, it never came to be. I discovered that I just don’t have that creative oomph or even the attention to detail to see through a few hundred of pages of text that actually make sense in the end.

If you are a citizen and resident of an Asian country, aspiring to be a book author, you should check out the 2009 Man Asian Literary Prize. I understand that there is only one prize to win and its US$10,000 cash. How’s that to help you with writing yet another book?

Submission actually opened on 19th January, 2009 but they have just announced their panel of judges on 13th February, 2009. Closing date is 31st March, 2009 for work of at least 10,000 words. Complete submissions have to be in by 1st August, 2009.

Free Web Icons & Backgrounds

I scour the web extensively for free web icons, graphics and backgrounds. That’s because I have so many web projects and online marketplace auctions that require something fresh.

This morning, I chanced upon Majon, an internet marketing company which also offers a collection of free web icons and backgrounds. I like this website not because they have a huge selection or they have exceptionally unique graphics or backgrounds but because selecting what I want is really very easy and doesn’t require me to flip through pages after pages.

I do hope, though, that they will fix their broken image links, because small boxes with a red X don’t give the site a professional image.
