Craft Freebie Resource

A couple of my lady friends are very creative. Where they find the time taking care of the kids and household and yet come up with such great designs, I have no idea. I thought that they have changed a lot with time, getting better and better with their imagination but they tell me that motherhood does that. Well, I have no idea about motherhood and such but I do know that there are plenty of free designs on the web for people like me who are not very creative and are never able to come up with beautiful designs of our own.

Anyway, as luck would have it, I stumbled upon this craft freebies recourse website called Craft Freebies. You know, the good about such resource sites that provides us nothing but links is the time it saves us from searching for these craft freebies online by ourselves. If you are looking for some craft ideas, whether it’s for sewing, jewelry making or wood craft or something else, pay this website, Craft Freebies, a visit.

Free Student Software

Really, sometimes you wonder how we used to go to school and study when students these days claim that they cannot study without the computer, without CDs and software to help them!

But anyway, we have to flow with the times. I am sure parents would feel guilty if they are not able to provide technology advancements to their kids, right? Well, there are free software, don’t worry!

This website, Switch In Time, has a slew of student software that were created for a school and are now freeware, though they do not come with guarantees or technical support. Also, please bear in mind that they only run on Mac systems so if you have a Windows system, this site isn’t for you.

Free eBooks (Kindle Edition)

I love reading but since discovering the internet, I stopped reading REAL books and all I ever read will be coming through the screen. I started reading ebooks on my iPhone not too long ago but ultimately, I would love to get a Kindle which has a larger screen and would be more comfortable on the eyes. Friends just don’t understand.

Anyway, if you have Kindle or planning to purchase one, you would be glad to know that Amazon.com will always have free ebooks (Kindle edition) to give away. Currently, one of the books they are giving away is Paranoia. Of course, you have to check the site regularly for their freebies.

If you would like to grab your share of free ebooks (Kindle Edition), hop over to Amazon.com via the link I have provided in this post. Enjoy!

Free Books From Random House

Back when before I discovered the internet, I was a voracious reader. I would read anything and everything, including whatever text on food packaging. I would read magazines, newspapers, books and all, except school books. That’s probably why I dropped out of school. SIGH!

And then along came the internet and I started reading everything on the screen and stopped reading REAL books. How I miss flipping through the pages and the smell of books.

Here are a few free books courtesy of Random House. The concept of reading it forward is where you would request for a free book and then pass it on to someone else after you have finished reading it. I love this concept, especially if the book is really good and I get to share the story with someone else and we could discuss the plot. And if the storyline is exceptional, I would want to buy and keep a copy too!

Free Interactive Whiteboard Applications

While looking for freebies, I stumbled upon this website, Awen, which has a very good collection of free whiteboard applications for download. These are great for teachers to be used in classrooms. There are also free instructions for each individual game that could be printed out.

I haven’t tried any of these whiteboard applications out as I am busy playing with free games on Facebook (haha!) but if you do try, let me know if these games are interesting and/or educational. Or simply just time wasters like those Facebook free games!

Oh yes, there’s one thing that I must mention. These free interactive whiteboard applications by Arwen can run on both Windows and Mac OSX so all you Mac users, don’t complain about being left out, OK?

Opus Hotel Red Carpet Ready Contest

I thought it had been a long time since I updated my blog and true enough, it had been a week! My mind was willing but the heart was not. Instead, I spent the past week playing one game after another on Facebook, hopping from Pet Society to Restaurant City to Mafia Wars to Underworld to Hatclings, Sorority Life, Glamour Age, Farm Town, FarmVille, Fantasy Farm, Barn Buddy, Happy Harvest, Happy Farm, Gardenhood, Happy Ranch, and the 101 other farming games that I even forgot their names. That’s why my friends were screaming that my crops are dead! LOL

Coincidentally, someone contacted me this morning; I am sure I am only one of the hundreds or even thousands of bloggers that she has contacted. Fair enough, she wants some publicity for the Opus Hotel contest that she is touting called Red Carpet Ready Contest.

Firstly, let me just say that if anyone wishes to have their contest mentioned on my blog, please at least leave me a link to the contest site. I really do not appreciate wasting time searching for it on the web.

Anyway, this Red Carpet Ready Contest is a photo contest for Facebook users who are in Canada only. If you fit the bill and would like to take part and have a shot at winning the Opus Vancouver 2009 Much Music Video Awards Package OR Opus Hotel Montréal 2009 Much Music Video Awards Package, check out the link I have enclosed in this post.

If you do not have a Facebook account yet, register now. It’s free. Besides being able to socialize and keep in touch with friends, family and associates, play games but don’t play as much as I do, please, you would also be able to participate in many contests and grab some freebies, particularly if you are living in the United States. More and more companies are engaging in social media marketing and Facebook is currently the top choice.

Free Scented Candle Drawing

If you are a fan of gourmet scented candles, whether you use or collect them, I have good news for you. I discovered this website, ScentSations, which holds weekly drawings and have gave away many gourmet scented candles and Bell bar soap, it seems. However, you would need to be in the United States.

I do not know if you have to submit your details weekly or if you are required to submit only one and be good for their weekly drawings on Mondays. Whatever it is, you’ll never win if you do not try.

Oh yes, of course, submitting your details to their website means that you are agreeing to receive their occasionally newsletter but that’s fine with me.
