“Seduce A Celeb” Online Reality Contest

I stumbled upon one of the most innovative online contests recently. It is a reality contest that is running on GoFish.com for fourteen weeks. I was actually watching Free videos at GoFish.com which led to my discovery of this contest, which is called “Seduce A Celeb”.

The winner of the contest will get to date the celebrity and she is the ever so hot Mirelly Taylor. I am sure you would have seen her on movies like “Kiss Me Again” and “Serving Sara” and TV shows “Las Vegas”, “Punk’d”, and “Numb3rs”.

So how does one stand to win a once in a lifetime chance of dating a celebrity? Mirelly Taylor has made three videos giving participants three calls-to-action and participants will have to submit videos of themselves answering those calls. Participants have to outdo each other and of course they have to be outrageously creative and funny to even stand a chance! And the more videos submitted the better chances of winning, of course.

Virtually everyone can participate by submitting their videos and try to score a date with Mirelly, as long as he is a member of GoFish.com and residing in the United States. If you are not a member yet, register NOW and get that video camera out!

This is a really interesting contest. I wonder who will be the next celebrity in their line-up. Could it be Jennifer Aniston?

Import Tuner “Ride of the Month” Contest

I have a friend who is very proud of his car and treats it so well until his girlfriend comes second place. He told me about a contest that is organized by Import Tuner magazine called “Ride of the Month“. The contest, more popularly known as ROTM, allows people to showcase their ride in a “clean” way. Photos that contain nudity, sexually explicit content, violence or in any way offend the general public or contain an image of a person or copyrighted will be disqualified.

Out of all entries received, only three will be short listed by way of members’ vote. These three entries will be featured on Import Tuner’s website and these winners will win themselves an Import Tuner t-shirt valued at $20 approximate retail price.

This contest, which runs from 1st May, 2007 (9am PST) until 22nd May, 2007 (5pm PST), is only open to legal residents of the United States of America who are above 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s licence. Too bad, my friend in Malaysia is not able to show off showcase his ride to the world.

SpamBog – Free Disposable Email Address

If you spend as much time online as I do, I am sure you will need a disposable email address. Many times, I signed up with websites for a certain service or to try out something and I end up being spammed. No doubt, some sites ASSURE us of not sending us unsolicited email but not all will hold true their promise.

If you just take a look at my inbox, I am sure you won’t relish spending time everyday just clearing out the junk. What to do, I do not even remember where I signed up for stuff and which companies are sending me mailings, updates and advertisements anymore.

Since I discovered SpamBog, I have stopped receiving new junk. Whenever I am required to provide a valid email address, SpamBog comes to my rescue. SpamBog has a toolbar that we can install on our FireFox browser enabling us to access our SpamBog inbox directly from our toolbar.

SpamBog is not just a disposable email address, of course. With it, you can send, reply, save or print your messages. I love it that we can send out “Failed Delivery” messages to bounce off email from people whom we no longer want to receive mails from! Best of all, this is a FREE service.

I was browsing the internet for mages to put on my new personal homepage. Actually came across quite a few websites that allows us to use their images for free but GIF Animations is by far the largest and orignal collection of GIF images.

If you have a slow internet connection, navigating this website could be a pain because the images are displayed one per page so you will need to click to view every image. Although I have a broadband connection I think it is too time consuming to view the images one by one before selecting the images that I want.

I feel that it would be better if all the images in one category are displayed in a single page and clicking on the image will bring us to a single image per page. That would be more user-friendly.

Even though almost everyone is sending out ecards and paper cards are not so popular anymore, sometimes it is not always appropriate to give ecards, especially for children, the elderly, people who are not web savvy or without internet access.

Since I have bought a colour printer that outputs amazing colour prints, I was looking for websites that lets me print out greeting cards. That’s how I came across Perfect Printable Cards.

This website houses so many printable birthday cards that you will be hard pressed to decide which card to print out. Colour ink isn’t cheap but I could not help myself from printing quite a few! Every card is so unique but be careful. First timers could find it difficult to customize the cards.

Once you know the way to do it, it is a breeze to select, download, customize, print out, fold and send!

I was actually searching for a good email reminder service because I am getting busier and busier that I do not remember important dates like birthdays and anniversaries and it makes me feel very guilty.

What prompted me to search for this without further delay was when a friend told me that he had forgotten the birthday of his best friend and I was like, “Whoa, best friend’s birthday also can forget!” Of course, I do not want to be in his shoes!

In my search, I came across Big Dates. This website is actually a cross between an email reminder service and a free greeting card website.

What I like about Big Dates is that it sends reminders to email or cell phone for birthdays, anniversaries and even holidays AND they always have a suggestion or two for an appropriate ecard to send out.

The site also enables us to turn our digital photos into unique paper cards which we can print out or to send them as ecards for free. Or we can select one of their paper cards and have it sent to our recipient for only $2.49 inclusive of postage within America. Wonderful!

Free Commercial Website Images

If you have tried to set up a company website or ecommerce site, you will know that there aren’t that many nice images that you can use for free. Many websites do charge a certain fee when their images are used for commercial purposes.

However, today I stumbled upon a website that lets us download their images from their huge database for use for free on our commercial website. To use their free or paid images, you have to comply with their very simple terms.

Just remember to download all images to your own computer and store in your own server. You are not allowed to hotlink the images. They did not mention it though, but I figured that if you are using their free images, that it is courteous to give Site Res an acknowledgment and a link back.
