Personalize Google Search

As a blogger with seven active blogs to write and a chronic freebie hunter, you can imagine the number of times I search the internet daily. My default search engine, as mentioned in one of my posts, is Google Search because it is light and loads easily but the plain background can be pretty boring. Granted, sometimes the words “Google” will be written in a cute artsy way but it is not always what I like to see, like the one in conjunction with Google’s 9th birthday that to me, looked like falling candy!

Today, I was introduced to a website that enables us to Personalize Google search page. Of course, I jumped at the chance to try it out at once. Off hand, I could not find a good enough picture on my computer to use so I thought I would use one that is readily available on Groovle.

If you know me, you know that I love dogs more than anything. Groovle, at http://www.groovle.com, has a collection of animal backgrounds and I selected one of a doggie. Boy, that was so cute, I already saved it to my bookmark replacing the original Google. It loads fast as well so that is not an issue. Groovle also allows users to customize their very own search page. To do so, we just have to upload an image to their server. Those who are good at customization are also welcome to share their unique homepage with other users.

Actually, this is a very simple concept. Groovle uses the search engine of Google and just provides us with an avenue to customize our Google page. It is just like getting new desktop wallpaper, you know? Like I said, the concept may be simple but what a way to cheer up our Google searching activities!
