While searching for freebies this morning, I stumbled upon this rather unique freebie. I don’t think I have featured anything like this before. Well, I have featured sites that offer soundfont before, surely, but never Malaysian soundfont.

If you are looking for Malaysian soundfont specifically, Music Mall Asia has a good collection of most Malaysian musical instrument from Gambus, Rebab, Canang, Gong, Kesi, Angklung, Gendang, Serunai, Seruling, Rebana, Gedombak, Geduk and even Erhu.

Oh yes, before downloading these music files, do read the copyright information first. You should know that these are only for personal use and strictly non-commercial. Too bad I have no use for these but I still downloaded them just to listen to the various musical sounds of these Malaysian instruments.

If you are a blogger or webmaster, I believe there are times when you need to make a poll or survey of your readers to get an opinion. I know there have been many occasions when I needed one but never found the right website that offers a simple survey creator or generator.

This morning, while surfing around, I found it. Of course, besides offering a free online survey service, this website also offers subscription based surveys, which I think will come with more features.

Anyway, I have no survey to create right now so I do not know how good this service is but if you have already used it, please let me know how you will rate it. Thanks in advance!

BONE Freebies

I am not sure how many of you have heard of BONE, let alone read this comic. I have to admit that although I have heard of BONE, I don’t have it in my local papers, and too lazy to check it online so this means that I don’t know what BONE is all about.

No worries, though, as long as there are freebies to get. Here is one website where you will be able to download freebies of BONE like screensavers, desktop wallpapers, buddy icons, printable sketches, etc.

I have no idea how regularly freebies are added or how often the site is updated but do check it out if you are looking for something different for your desktop.

If you have already gotten a domain name and subsequently web hosting (possibly cheap webhosting, or even FREE web hosting), the next thing you want to do in setting up a website is to look for a web template. You could buy one or commission someone to design one for you but I see no reason why we should pay for one when there are so many free website templates available.

Free Website Templates offers a good selection of web templates for various purposes. Whether these are for commercial or personal website use, you will have to check the terms of use.

I would like to point out that basically, this is a commercial website so many of the themes or templates here are premium themes that cost money so make sure that you only check the section of free themes!

I have been searching for some design freebies. I don’t know why; not like I know how to make the best use of them also but I really love the creativity of the designers. I love to visit websites and blogs of designers and scrapbookers. Somehow, to me, they generally have the best layouts and themes.

Think Design Blog is an awesome blog with various design freebies to offer from vectors to backgrounds to icons and textures. However, what makes Think Design Blog different from the other designer blogs that I featured so far is that Think Design Blog occasionally runs contests as well. So far, they have offered premium WordPress themes as prizes.

Freebies For Teachers & Parents

Although I am not a teacher and do not know of any friends or family who are teachers, I believe that those who have children are also part time teachers because they have to teach the kids at home when they are not at school!

Children here in Malaysia have just started their two week school holidays and I could just imagine that parents here will have their hands full keeping the kids occupied and educated at home.

Just a while ago, I came upon this teaching resource site which has a good list of websites and links to freebies meant for teachers but I would say these freebies are also suitable for parents who have to coach the kids at home.

I remember Mandy Moore back when she was just a teen singer. I even have one of her earlier albums but I have to admit that it isn’t one of the albums that I play all that often.

However, as you could see from this image, Mandy Moore is all grown up now and I am sure her music has changed as well. Is it for the better or worse? you take a listen.
