Some of my friends would change their mobile devices so regularly that it’s like changing clothes. Actually, I don’t really like to change mobile devices too often because I would then have to learn the whole working of the device all over again. Let’s not forget about installing new software and programs. Bah!

For people who like changing devices and want new ringtones all the time, this is a pretty awesome online software that allows us to create our own ringtone from any mp3 file. Right now, this software is not available so check back again soon, for a promised more powerful free ringtone creator.

Free Cute Twitter Buttons

While reading a blog, I chanced upon a cute Twitter button on the sidebar. One click led to another and I landed on the website of Twitter My Site which offers very cute Twitter buttons for free. If you are a webmaster who uses Twitter, this is just the thing you should check out and perhaps use.

I love these Twitter buttons, but too bad that we are required to provide a link back to the website with the line “button from twittermysite”. I mean, I have no problems giving credit where it is due but it sort of spoils the graphics.

I’d love to use one of these too but I feel weird when strangers follow me on Twitter and don’t even know anything about me and would not be interested to know about my life. LOL

Free Precious Places DVD

A friend saw this freebie and alerted me even when I have no use for it. Perhaps one of my readers, or more, would like to redeem this DVD. It’s a Precious Places DVD by Mattel. It’s the first episode entitled, “The Princesses Save The Ball.”

Frankly, I have never even heard of Precious Places. Perhaps it’s because I do not have children since this target audience is those below 3 years old. LOL Anyway, if you are interested, do read the terms and conditions first. This DVD is only for 12 minutes and there is a limit of one copy per household.

Also, those who redeem this DVD must be at least 18 years old. Those who are below 18 would have to get help from a parent or guardian.

I was searching for free mp3 downloads when I chanced upon this freebie offered by People.com. Now, I have to say that even though I was searching for free legal music, I did not download this mp3 file, The River Knows by Rodney Atkins, though I did stream the music.

I guess the reason I did not download it is because I am totally unfamiliar with Rodney Atkins. He may be big but I don’t think I’ve heard of his name before. Besides, Country just isn’t my thing, you know?

My friend bought a spanking new, ultra cute strawberry flavoured LG ice cream KF350 and was looking for a brand new cute ringtone to match her phone. I am sure you know that a new phone owner will not be satisfied with the preloaded ringtones, right?

I thought it would be a great opportunity for her to try out this free ringtone creator offered by Phone Zoo. Even though I own a few mobile devices myself, I am already past the stage of creating my own unique mobile ringtones so I didn’t get to try out Phone Zoo’s free mobile ring tone creator till today!

Besides creating free mobile ring tones, Phone Zoo is like a social community for mobile download lovers. You could share the ringtone that you have created or photos with other community members. As for the rest of the features, you will have to check them out yourself!

Web Design Freebies, Resources & Inspiration

A friend wanted to revamp his website and asked me for inspiration. Of course, over the past few months, I have already found many websites which offer free icons, graphics, textures and such but I thought I would find even more for him.

This led me to stumble upon Pattern Head. I don’t believe that I have featured them before because if I did, I would definitely remember. I really like their name.

On Pattern Head, you will find a rich resource of web designing freebies and inspiration, some from the author and some are from other designers who also kindly and generously offered their designs for free.

If you plan to use any of the freebies here on Petrol Head, do check the Terms of Use first and give credit where it is due.

Free Malaysian Soundfont

While searching for freebies this morning, I stumbled upon this rather unique freebie. I don’t think I have featured anything like this before. Well, I have featured sites that offer soundfont before, surely, but never Malaysian soundfont.

If you are looking for Malaysian soundfont specifically, Music Mall Asia has a good collection of most Malaysian musical instrument from Gambus, Rebab, Canang, Gong, Kesi, Angklung, Gendang, Serunai, Seruling, Rebana, Gedombak, Geduk and even Erhu.

Oh yes, before downloading these music files, do read the copyright information first. You should know that these are only for personal use and strictly non-commercial. Too bad I have no use for these but I still downloaded them just to listen to the various musical sounds of these Malaysian instruments.
