Free WordPress e-Commerce Plugin

My friend wanted to set up an online store powered by WordPress CMS. It’s easier to manage than using an OsCommerce theme according to her. Actually, I have also thought of starting a webstore using WordPress because I feel more comfortable using it but cannot find a theme that is suitable for my needs yet.

Anyway, here is a great WordPress e-Commerce Plugin for your WordPress powered shopping cart that smoothly integrates into your WordPress website. I haven’t the opportunity to use this plug-in yet but it seems this is the best e-Commerce plugin there is out there currently.

If you are already using this WordPress plug-in, do leave a comment here with your user experience. Thank you.

Design Freebies Heaven

I had the luck to stumble across this website with plenty of quality design freebies for download a few weeks ago but could not find time to blog about it but first of all, let me just say that I love the layout of this website and its creativity certainly represents a good design website.

Design Freebies Heaven has plenty of downloadable packs for us from free vectors, icons, textures, backgrounds to free wallpapers to free Photoshop brushes. From what I could see, most of these freebies are free to use for personal and commercial projects. However, I believe that we should always give credit where it is due and provide a link back to source.

If you are looking for any of the above stated designs, you should check out this website. I have gone through a few pages of freebies and I like the quality of them. And it is really not easy for me to find one that could maintain a certain standard for every freebie design.

Free iPhone & Windows Mobile Skins & Themes

As an owner of an iPhone, albeit an older generation one, I change my iPhone skin fairly regularly. It’s so easy, isn’t it? However, I have to admit that I do spend way too much time searching for iPhone skins and themes.

Skins 4 Mobi is a new kid on the block of iPhone skins. However, besides iPhone themes, it also offers Windows Mobile skins. How do these two gel together? Well, that, we have to ask the owner of the site!

In any case, if you have a Windows Mobile operated smart phone or an iPhone and looking for a fresh face for it, Skins 4 Mobi is the place to go. There are plenty to choose from and they all come with screenshots so you know exactly what you will be installing before you take the trouble to download the file!

Free 30GB Secure Online Storage

I was looking for an secure online storage when my search brought me to the website of Glide OS. I have to admit that I have not heard of Glide OS before. I think it’s like a mobile browser but I am not sure. The introduction on its homepage sounds totally Greek to me!

Anyway, let’s get to the bottom of this. Glide OS is offering free 30GB secure online storage for all registered users. Sounds totally good to me even though I may not know what they are, who they are or what they do. LOL

Currently, I am using SkyDrive from Windows Live but I don’t really like it. Let’s see if I have the time and mood to move my files over. Urghh… it’s too much work just thinking about it!

Free Photoshop Packs

The owner of this website, Sarah, is a mighty creative designer, if I may say so. She also runs a commercial website offering Photoshop brushes but on this website, her designs are totally free.

I have read through the terms of use and they are all available for personal use only. If you would like to use them on commercial projects, you have to buy a commercial license. If you are a scrapbooker and plan to use her designs on your scrapbooking kits to resell, you will have a purchase a scrapbooking reseller license or something like that. Still, they are free for personal use!

You know, I have checked out a lot of such websites that offer free Photoshop design packs and even to use them, you need some creativity! As for me, I like the designs but I don’t even know how to use them. Haha!

Scrapbook, Graphics, Quick Pages & More Freebies

The Graphics Shoppe is actually a commercial website that offers premium membership to access over 7000 graphics instantly for commercial use. Normally, I do not feature commercial websites since this is a freebies blog but The Graphics Shoppe also has a handful of freebies for freebie lovers like me.

Right now, there are scrapbook freebies, graphic freebies, quick pages, glitter text, clip art, word art and some other web freebies. Check out the link that I have included in this post to check out the freebies for yourself. They may be free but they are all quality stuff.

You may need to check the terms of use first before downloading any of the freebies, though. Since these are free, they may require an acknowledgment and perhaps a link back to their website.

Free Online Guitar Lessons

My sister bought a guitar when she was in primary school but never got to learn it. Her teacher told her that her fingers are too short and she will only be wasting her time, money and effort if she takes up guitar. She then switched to the piano.

My sister has since moved out and last month when I was spring cleaning our room, found her old guitar. I thought I would learn to play it but I am too cheap to pay for lessons. I do dream of playing the guitar like a pro, like Santana, for instance, but I don’t think I have the talent!

This morning, by chance, I came upon the website of Gibson which has free guitar lessons that we could download freely and learn. I don’t know if these lessons would be useful for people like me who don’t even know the basics of playing guitar. Never mind. I shall try.
