Free Legal Advice And More

I previously wrote about a website that offers Free Legal & Insurance Advice. Well, here is another one. At The Law Dot Com, you can get free legal advice and discuss any legal matter with lawyers in the forum. You will also be able to download free legal forms and get free legal outlines on any legal issue.

If you have read the FAQs section and have discussed your issue at the forums and still not satisfied with the free advice given, you can locate a lawyer near you and get a free legal consultation as well, although I have been told that you would get a quicker response on the forums!

If you would like to find out the definitions of any specific legal term, check out TheLaw dictionary too.

I find this website really useful because I am sure that there is always a time in our lives where we need a little legal advice. This site allows us t throw our case open to be discussed by experienced lawyers and for free too! Check it out!

One Click Weather Forecast

I rely quite heavily on the weather forecasts and used to have a widget on my desktop. Although it is quite useful, it has some features which I found redundant. MY friend told me about FastWx Weather Forecasts. When I opened the page, I was rather surprised that it is almost blank. So I keyed in my zip code and hit Enter on the button which says “Weather”.

Amazingly, there was a full page of weather conditions rendered including current condition, hourly temperature and weather for the following five days. I find it very nifty and I could customize the page to only show me information that I want to see.

Fast Wx Weather Forecasts is now bookmarked because it is nifty, user-friendly, loads fast and accurate!

Win $2500 With Eyes Closed

I know I am guilty of always saying that one contest is the easiest to participate and then I find another way that surpasses that. Well, this one takes the cake. Ashwin Khanna’s Blog Extravaganza has been making the waves on the internet because he is giving away $2500 cold hard cash to one lucky person at the end of his link fest.

To participate, and anybody could do this with both eye closed, bloggers have to copy, paste and publish a fixed paragraph of text on their own blogs. And the text goes like this, and I quote copy and paste:

Over at Ashwin’s blog, you will find one crazy blog owner!! You can win $2500!! To enter just copy this text and paste it in your blog!! But hurry, this competition will not last long! So get posting!

Did I already say this is an easy peasy contest? Anyone with a blog should participate and why not? Many people have asked if this contest is for real. Well, we will soon know next month, won’t we?

P/S: 24th August, 2007: The link has been updated to point to another site after this contest has been found to be crap.

Free Doggie Info On The Dog Guide

If you have been following my blogs, you are probably getting sick of all my pet stories. However, I feel that people need to be more responsible towards animals and be educated on pets too.

A couple of days ago, I was at the vet’s to pick up a blood test report for my dog. The vet asked me if I would like to adopt a Boston Terrier. I already have two senior dogs now and I do not wish to keep anymore pets, ever, although I love dogs very much. The pain of losing my pets is too much to bear. I know it is inevitable but they are going to be 13 years old in four months’ time and their health is not getting any better.

I declined the offer although Boston Terriers are just the loveliest dogs that one could have. I asked why the owner is giving the dog up. The vet said that the owner, although he loves dogs too (yeah, right!), do not have the time to care for a dog anymore because he has a family now and work is more demanding.

I was pissed off! I believe that if one could take a dog in, he should keep and care for the dog till the end. What sort of owner is he to abandon a dog halfway? If the owner was there, I would have given him a piece of my mine. If he had read a Boston Terriers Dog Guide Article, he would know what sort of dogs Boston Terriers are. They do not need that much of care or grooming at all and there is certainly no need to abandon a dog because family comes first. The article explains that Boston Terriers are kid-friendly and a perfect family dog.

He’s lucky he was not around that day!

Whenever people tell me that their kids are asking for a dog, I advise them to read up on the dog guide first. The wealth of free dog information is there for us to explore. There are so many dog breeds and each breed has its distinct character. Make up your mind on the type of dog that would fit your lifestyle because once you have adopted a dog, it would be cruel of you to give the dog away. Do you give away your child or a family member? I guess some people do, but that is beside the point.

Before I end, I actually know of a way for you to win yourself a designer dog collar and I will be revealing it in a subsequent post. So stay tuned!

Just For Kix

In a previous post, I wrote about ballet dancing and one of the things my sister and I love, besides the graceful fluidity of dancers, are the beautiful dance shoes and costumes. And that also effectively put us off learning dancing because of the cost!

I just stumbled upon this online store called Just For Kix, that has the widest range of dance shoes, cheerwear, uniforms, accessories and other knick knacks that have to do with dancing that I have ever seen. Not only do they have ballet shoes but also other shoes for other dances like tap, modern, Jazz and a whole lot more at very competitive prices. I did not know that even for dance shoes, there are so many types!

It may seem weird to know that I love checking out dance stores like these just because I am not a dancer myself but I do dream of dance lessons for my daughter if and when I have one.

Just For Kix provides free catalog for people looking to buy their products. Just fill out the form provided and select if you would like to receive the dance product or cheer product catalog. Moreover, Just For Kix also sends out fundraising info kit for free. If your dance or cheer group is trying to raise funds for any charitable cause or event, you could request for the Just For Kix free fundraising info kit. Since 1964, Just For Kix has partnered with eFundraising/QSP Reader’s Digest and helped groups of dancers raise over $3.5 billion.

I came across this blog sweepstakes a couple of days ago. I have already submitted my entry but thought I would share the information with you all.

The Cranking Widgets Blog is holding a sweepstakes where to participate, you need to review his blog in a minimum of 200 words and linking up to his homepage and sweepstakes post.

Brett Kelly, the owner of The Cranking Widgets Blog says that the tone of your review post will not determine whether you win or not win the sweepstakes so an honest review is appreciated.

One Brett has thirty review entries or until 1st August, 2007, whichever comes first, Brett will use a specially written program to select the winner and the lucky person walks away with $50 cash via PayPal.

If you are wondering why I only feature certain blog contests, well, I try to share those that either have cash prizes or are open to worldwide residents. I know too well the feeling of being sidelined so I try to share those that everyone can participate.

If you are going to review The Cranking Widgets Blog for a chance at cash, good luck!

The Nutcracker Ballet From Russia

My sister has informed me that The Nutcracker Ballet which is Russia’s best ballet troupe will be touring the United States at the end of the year and one of the cities they are scheduled to perform is in Memphis, Tennessee. My sister lives just a couple of hours’ drive from Memphis and she can’t wait to go for an entertaining night out with her fiance.

When we were kids, we were very envious of our cousin, Jasmine. She gets to study ballet at a top dance school in town while we were not able to because dancing is a hobby that our parents could ill afford. Until today, we still love watching ballet and the gracefulness of the ballet performers.

Now that the very famous nutcracker ballet from Moscow, Russia, is going to perform at her doorstep, well, almost, no way is she going to pass up this chance. She says this is the next best thing to going to Russia to watch!

She said that it will be a wonderful opportunity for her to wind down. She said that she works hard and needs the break once in a while, so this two hour drive to watch the Nutcracker Ballet would be a welcome trip away.
